EXPLORING THE WONDERS OF EGYPT

Cairo, Egypt, is a city where ancient history meets modern luxury, offering an unforgettable experience for travelers. From the breathtaking pyramids of Giza to the bustling streets filled with culture and tradition, Cairo is a destination that should be on everyone’s bucket list. My recent birthday trip to this historic city was nothing short of amazing, and I’m excited to share my itinerary, accommodations, and must-do experiences.

My Travel Accommodations:

My journey from Atlanta, Georgia, to Cairo, Egypt, was smooth and comfortable, thanks to well-planned flight connections. I flew with Delta Airlines from Atlanta to Rome, enjoying excellent service and complimentary food and snacks during the flight. From Rome, I connected with ITA Airways for the final leg to Cairo. The return trip was just as seamless, I departed Cairo with Air France to Paris, then continued my journey home with Delta Airlines from Paris to Atlanta. The in-flight service on all international flights was great, with complimentary meals and snacks provided, making the long travel hours much more enjoyable.

A Little History of Cairo:

Cairo, known as the “City of a Thousand Minarets” Egypts capital and the largest city in the Arab world. Established in 969 AD, it has been a center of learning, commerce, and culture for centuries. It is home to some of the world’s most famous landmarks, including the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum, which houses artifacts from the time of the pharaohs. The city’s rich history blends seamlessly with its modern energy, making it a dynamic destination for travelers.

Where I Stayed: The Luxurious Marriott Mena House

For my stay, I chose the Marriott Mena House, a five-star luxury hotel in Giza that offers a breathtaking close-up view of the pyramids. This hotel was worth every dollar, providing a stunning blend of history, elegance, and modern comfort. The aesthetic appeal of the hotel was unmatched, from its grand architecture to its beautifully maintained gardens.

Mena House offers three exceptional on-site restaurants:

• 139 Pavilion - A buffet-style restaurant with a mesmerizing view of the pyramids.

• Alfredo Italian Restaurant - Serving authentic Italian cuisine, also with a stunning pyramid backdrop.

• The Moghul Room - An Indian restaurant featuring delicious dishes and a serene view of the pool.

Each restaurant not only provided amazing food but also incredible customer service that enhanced my overall experience. Another highlight of this hotel is its on-site spa, Saray Spa. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend booking spa treatments in advance, as slots fill up quickly.
